Manchester United have been boosted by the return of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, who were both banjaxed with ankle and knee injury respectively. The pair have been out of action mid-way through the season but they look set to return to action after impressing while being put through paces in training ahead of the restart of the Premier League.
Pogba was phenomenal for the Red Devils at the start of the season but he sustained a knee injury during their game against Southampton on the 31st of August, 2019 and it was his first in a series of setbacks. The French star returned to action after four weeks but suffered a setback after featuring in the Carabao Cup against Rochdale in September.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tweaked his midfield to feature Scot McTominay and Nemanja Matic in the stead of Pogba but United struggled in his absence. However, he returned in December to feature against Watford and Newcastle before he was subjected to an operation that would have scuppered his season, thanks to the compulsory break from sports and football.
Meanwhile, Rashford had complained about an ache at his back and he was found to have double stress fracture, which kept him out of action since mid-January. The Three Lions striker scored 14 goals in 22 League games and was in his best form before he was sidelined.
According to SportsBettingDime, when football returns to the old continent Manchester United will have the full squad to choose from where Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba will be fit for the proposed resumption of the Premier League.
United moved to fifth place on the Premier League log after they came-off their last seven games without a loss. They are currently three points adrift of Chelsea in fourth position but they are primed to finish the season in a champions league spot, although they have an outside chance of qualifying for the competition if they win the Europa League.
The United fan base is hysteric about the prospect of a midfield with Pogba and Bruno Fernandes. Their partnership as speculated will make United more formidable and likely take the club to the next level as Solskjaer continues to build a title winning side.
Despite being injured since January, Rashford has remained the top scorer for Man United with 19 goals in all competitions this season. With Anthony Martial and Daniel James, we are bound to see a potent front three including Rashford.
When the League is restarted, United will take on familiar rivals Tottenham Hotspurs in their first game.
