Alex Telles shows his attacking threat in big win over Istanbul Basaksehir

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United cruised to a thumping 4-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir and while he wasn’t the star of the show, Alex Telles played a major role.

Bruno Fernandes ran away with that title once again after grabbing a brilliant brace as his red hot form continues.

Marcus Rashford grabbed the third from the penalty spot while Daniel James scored in the dying embers of the match to protect the three points.

United were not as impressive in the second half as they were in the first but it was overall a pleasing performance and a pleasing result.

Luke Shaw’s injury has meant Telles got back-to-back starts and it’s safe to say he’s making the most of his opportunities.

Telles’ attacking talent was always what fans were looking forward to and he has delivered on that front so far.

His crosses are always dangerous and even if they don’t meet their targets, it forces the opposition to think twice about how they defend.

However, it’s clear to see from the statistic above that he can create chances for his teammates and did better than the on-fire Bruno.

If Telles can keep up his performances then there’s no reason why he can keep his place in the starting XI, even when Shaw returns to full fitness.

United have had some world class goalkeepers over the years and some entertaining ones too. Take our quiz below to find out how much you know about United’s number 1’s, past and present.
