EXCLUSIVE: Interview with United’s future Brazilian star striker

by Sam Peoples

Brazilian starlet and Desportivo striker Bruno Gomes has admitted that he already has plans to join Manchester United when he turns 18 in 2014.

Bruno Gomes has already impressed the club during training sessions watched by Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson. Back home, the teenager has already been breaking records, finishing as the top scorer in the Sao Paolo U17 championship with 27 goals.

The Peoples Person had the chance to chat to Bruno Gomes about his potential future move to Manchester United and to find out a little bit more about him as a player.

For those that don’t know about you, can you explain who you are?

My name is Bruno Gomes de Oliveira Conceição and I am looking forward to hopefully joining Manchester United in 2014 when I turn 18. As a person, I’m very quiet. My parents say I go out too much though, like going out with friends and my family. I love going to the movies but I don’t go to many parties, unless it is with very close friends.

Brazilians Rafael, Fabio and Anderson are all at Manchester United. Do you think you have what it takes to become a star at Old Trafford?

Rafael and Fabio are partners with me as well as Anderson but I have less contact with him. I think they are all sensational. I want to make history in Manchester as they did and still do, stay there for many years and be remembered by the crowd when I’m an old man.

What type of footballer are you? Are you good with tricks and flicks or are you all about just scoring goals?

I can play as a midfielder or as a forward. I like to play at speed, going diagonally from the top to the centre but I also like to play a pivotal role just behind the strikers. My strongest asset is giving the final pass in the move.

Thank you for the opportunity to talk to Manchester United fans. If it was up to me, I would go to Manchester today.

When you turn 18 in 2014, you will be joining Manchester United. Are you excited about it?

Sure. If I could go today I would. Manchester United is the biggest club in the world, who does not want to play at United?

What is it about Manchester United that you love?

Like I said, Manchester United is the greatest team in the world and has a wonderful structure. The whole club always seems to be calm and it must give an assurance to the professional players to just  play football. I cannot wait to play for the Reds.

What are you looking forward to most at Manchester United?

I love challenges, and I want to be the first Brazilian to be top scorer in the Premier League and lift the Champions League. I also want to make history in the UK.

Who is your favourite Manchester United player?

Sorry my Brazilian friends but I’m a fan of Rooney. The guy is too much, playing with a passion that I love, besides being very technical. He is the man.
