Erling Haaland to Man United - Transfer Talk

The media reports suggests he's bound for Turin. Somehow I don't see Raiola doing United any favours. To be honest I'd rather see Maddison and Grealish in our midfield and allow Greenwood to develop

The media are reporting that the contractual terms Raiola insisted on were loaded in Raiola's favour, £50m buyout clause and percentage of transfer fee for Raiola and Haaland's father. They are obviously going to Dortmand for 2-3 years then a transfer to Spain or Italy for mega bucks, but with Raiola taking a big part of the prize.
I hope United refuse to deal with Raiola ever again once Pogba is sorted out.

I'd take that with a pinch General. I think the fact that he simply wasnt interested in joining us is far nearer the truth. The whole world and his dog knew Riola is his senior advisor. It didnt stop Ole flying out there to try and convince him to come. His buy out was £18 million. Peanuts.
Its another embarrassing episode for the club.

Honestly he would’ve been nice and he’s an amazing talent but I never really wanted him and I’ll stand by that, simply because he would have hindered Greenwood’s development. That’s it. IMO the problem is not the striker/s, but the lack of service they are getting. Reinforce the midfield!! I don’t trust the board to do that though.

With that said, it’s just another instance of incompetence by the board in the transfer market. However I am more inclined to believe he simply didn’t want to come to United, which I also can’t blame him for given the state of the club

Agreed. We aren't an attractive proposition at the moment for a young up-and-coming player from overseas. I suppose if we chuck enough money out there, players will come, but it won't be because they dream of playing for United.

That said though, there are plenty of quality players from overseas that would love to play for United regardless, and who are good enough. We just have to find them! That’s why we also need better and smarter recruitment to scout other leagues for talent. I’m sick of hearing Rice for 80m when we could get two young quality midfielders for the same price.

Forget Rice. He's not worth half of that. There are good players who would give their eye-teeth to play for United but we rarely land one. We end up chasing Haaland who is in Raiola's pocket. Our scouting system must be bloody awful.
