Man United's January Transfer Rumours

Also Norwegian press all over the Haaland thing, we're supposed to be favourites due to Solskjaer connection. Thoughts?
I dont think he will sign for us, as much as I want him.

The hatred his father has for United is apparently big, I think it will influence his decision.

I'll start the ball rolling myself. Multiple sources in Italy suggesting Mandzukic is pretty close. Good signing?
I would like him to come in as our Plan B when it comes to front line. I don't think he should be starting for League games. Maybe he could be our version of Giroud for Europa games?

I would love to see Halland however I'd rather see midfielder like maddison or even rice to play along side mctominay
I agree. I dont think maddison will want to come over, especially with how well the Foxes are doing right now, they're contenders to win the league this year.
Unless they get one or two major losses before the window opens, I think Maddison will want to stay in Leicester and see out the season.

More on Haaland again in the Mirror today. United prepared to buy and loan back to the end of the season ... like we don't need anyone now  If you read down the article though there's a lot of talk about Bayern and I doubt we'd be able to compete with them if they were in for him. Also the fact that his agent is Mino Raiola gives you pause doesn't it?

The hatred his father has for United is apparently big, I think it will influence his decision.
His father has been quoted as saying he'd be excited if he joined United, that he's able to separate the old stuff with what's best for his son. Probably would be different if Keano was at the club though!

I'd rather see midfielder
Totally agree, midfield has to be priority. But dealing with Leicester is almost as hard as dealing with Raiola!

Just found this. According to Metro Pogba is happy to stay under Ole and won’t be moving in January. Personally I am so glad if this is true! Anybody who knows football knows we are finished without him and the board in my opinion are not likely to reinvest that money into Pogba replacements. Hopefully Pogba understands that he is pretty much the figurehead leading this rebuild. Fingers crossed! https://metro.co.uk/2019/12/30/mino-raiola-paul-pogba-manchester-united-january-transfer-11976653/

It's not. It's the Metro. You wouldn't drive a metro so why read one? ;)
:ROFLMAO::LOL:
Why some people think Pogba was going in January is beyond comedy. Where was he to go?? He's just come back after 3 months injury.

Its like this. Pogba wants out. He has publicly said that, and the club are preparing life without him. He needs his fitness back so as not to jeopardise his summer move. Raiola nailed it yesterday when he said Pogba needs champions league football and wants to do it at United.

Thats a shithouse way of saying that even if this United team qualifies for it, it would only be making up the numbers unless it signs genuine proven quality players. If last summers transfer campaign is anything to go by, and taking into account that Haaland totally snubbed us, then clearly its not looking good.

I foresee another summer transfer window passing us by were no proven quality will touch us. The club will yet again have the spin machine on full steam ahead as soon as the season has finished. All the big names thrown in. Sancho. Dybala. Fernandez. It keeps the season tickets flying off the shelve's. But in the last few days of the window we will pay way over the odds for a couple of British half arsed players. And United will "yet again" fail to sign the quality because..."We are not bowing down to huge demands".

I'm of the opinion a lot of this shite would be avoided if we made the move and got Poch in. Quality isnt going to sign for Ole. Simple as that.

Oh 😂 not very reliable in the UK I take it?
I crawled out of one once that was hit side-on by a Ford Granada. Luckily, the Ford was only doing 30mph otherwise we'd have been killed. It flipped the Metro over and I ended up in St. Stephen's Hospital on the Fulham Road with a broken arm and a few cuts. My mate, who was driving, got the worst of it and broke his leg, hip, and arm. Granada driver was at fault but a half-decent car wouldn't have flipped with that sort of impact.

Just saw this article on TalkSport. If Pogba is definitely going, then I would 100% take this deal no hesitation. Rabiot is worth what, 30-40m? So revenue-wise we've also profited off Pogba's sale. Ideally I would also try and go for Emre Can in the same deal but I don't think Juve would consider.

Honestly right now I just think we need to get in midfielders, regardless of them being the 'right players for the right price', in the words of Ole.
Beggars can't be choosers and right now, we're the beggars. We literally have ZERO other midfielders, McSauce out for 3 months, Pogba probably gone, youth injured. Who do we have?? Get these two in and reinforce our midfield. Fingers crossed!

Would you guys like to see Rabiot (and Can?)

I think I'd rather see a swap deal involving Tony Kroos but it's widely reported that Real have cooled their interest in Pogba.

Maddison, Grealish, Kroos, Fred, McT and Pereira would be a decent bunch to choose from with back up from some academy players for next season.

If we can keep Eric Baiiley out of the sick bay and give more pitch time to young Axel, the defence only needs tweaking a bit for next season. Chunky Shaw needs to loose half a stone and Maguire needs a confidence boost

Kroos would be superb. If we can get Garner and Galbraith to get some more games, they might become good rotation players to help us out

If you didn't think Ole loved Lingard before, he definitely does now.

According to the Mirror, Utd are prepared to offer Lingard + 45m for James Maddison. That means we're valuing Jesse at what, 40m at least?? :ROFLMAO:
I would be amazed if we pulled this off. Don't think Leicester would even consider selling, but Maddison is a Utd fan and if Woodward is smart with the right negotiation strategy (highly unlikely), we could snag him. Thoughts guys?

Does anyone think Brentan will take Lingard in part-ex for Maddison? The lad may be a fan but he plays for a team that is currently streets ahead of us and if he harbours any England ambitions, he'll give United a wide berth.

Not a chance Maddison will come to Utd, unfortunately. Utd board have already made a stance about paying over the odds for players in the Haaland deal. Leicester will put a crazy price tag on Maddison.
All that aside, Leicester are 2nd in the league, hunting a champ league place, have a brilliant manager, playing brilliant football. Why would he leave?
Now Jack Grealish, would be a different story
