German keeper claims he will join Manchester United this week
By Tom Parker
Manchester United have signed promising F.C Augsburg II goalkeeper Dean Santangelo, according to fupa.net.
The 19-year-old keeper was previously on the books for Reading before moving to F.C Ingolstadt 04. Santangelo made the move to Augsburg this season and has appeared once for their ‘B’ team.
Speaking about the move, Santangelo was quoted as saying;
“My father got a call from Manchester United on Wednesday from Manchester United. This weekend I fly to England and will be there to sign a contract.”
Santangelo was born in London before moving to Zurich where he grew up and in the past he has turned out for Didcot Town and Bromley.

United have also been linked with young Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David Gil in recent weeks. However, it appears United have opted for a move for Augsburg stopper Santangelo.
6”4 Santangelo is likely to slot into the U21s for the remainder of the season and challenge for a spot in goal against Johnstone and Amos.
Santangelo is something of an unknown quantity, so it will be interesting to see how he fares for the reserves if he does indeed join the club in the coming week.
