Manchester United announce new partnership
Manchester United have announced a new three-and-a-half year partnership with Indonesian tyre manufacturer Multistrada.
The deal will see the global organisation bring the 54 million Indonesian Manchester United fans closer to the team as much as possible and with a TV reach of over 900 million people, it will certainly be a lucrative deal.
Speaking about the deal, Richard Arnold, Manchester United’s commercial director said: “Manchester United is delighted to welcome Multistrada as its Official Tyre Partner in Indonesia.
“We have always had huge support in the country and our commercial sponsorships are an important way for the Club to connect with those fans. Just a few months ago almost 12,000 fans queued for a place at our #IAMUNITED fan party in Jakarta, even though we had only 6,000 available.
“Although from two very different industries, Multistrada and Manchester United share many common values, which is ultimately what we look for in a sponsor and I am confident this will be a successful partnership.”
With 170,000 followers, @UtdIndonesia is the largest Manchester United fan club on Twitter. With a +7 GMT time zone, watching games isn’t easy for locals to watch but it doesn’t deter their support.
The United academy recently competed in the NexLions Cup in Singapore and with a pre-season tour game confirmed in Australia, more Asian locations are likely to be added in order to let fans on the other side of the world get a glimpse at United in the flesh.
