Moyes’ latest Rooney decision is considered a step too far by some

by Sam Peoples

David Moyes has chosen to divulge his transfer plans for Manchester United with Wayne Rooney and it was that information which helped Rooney change his mind about staying at the club, according to The Guardian.

The 28-year-old was told about Juan Mata’s arrival before it happened so as to show him that United intend to invest big money into the squad in order to start building a new post-Ferguson United.

Some fans have been up in arms at Rooney’s continued preferential treatment despite what he has done in the past with United, and it is a fair point because Moyes must make sure that it doesn’t cause any division among the other players.

All season long, Moyes has publicly sung Rooney’s praises all season and it has had a really positive effect on the field for Rooney but Moyes must make sure that others are not discontent at his treatment of them.

Rooney’s importance to the team has come to the fore this season and although I don’t think there is anything wrong with letting your top players know some information about the transfer market activities, Moyes has to make sure he keeps a healthy balance in the squad and doesn’t alienate the rest of the team by rubbing Rooney’s back too much.

Do you think Wayne Rooney should be told any information about Manchester United in the transfer market?
