Reading approach Manchester United for Danny Welbeck move
According to multiple sources including The Times, Reading have made an approach to Manchester United to sign Danny Welbeck on loan last night.
The 22-year-old striker has struggled for first team starts this season with van Persie, Rooney and Hernandez keeping him sidelined but there is no way Ferguson would let Welbeck leave Old Trafford.
Last season, Welbeck and Rooney struck a partnership that was one of the highlights of the season. Almost telepathic at times, the two strikers clearly enjoyed playing with each other and in his first full season at Old Trafford, Welbeck managed to net 12 times in 39 appearances.
Surprisingly, only Robin van Persie (26) has made more appearances for Manchester United in 2012/13 than Danny Welbeck (23). It is a testament to how important Welbeck is to the squad as a whole.
As has always been the case with rotation, Welbeck is a vital part of a striking quartet that will all be needed as we challenge for the UEFA Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.
He might be lacking the confidence of Hernandez and van Persie but a loan move to Reading wouldn’t help him nor would it help United. A loan move for Welbeck would see us with three fully fit strikers in the first team squad and with Rooney’s injury problems this year and van Persie’s history, it would leave us short changed and given our goalscoring exploits this season, why would Ferguson want to change anything?
Do you think a loan move for Welbeck is a good idea?

Welbeck shld not b sold.he is still imprtant in d team
Reading fan here, would love to see him come to us, but can’t see it, unless Nick Powell is going to see more action in the second half of the season or Fergie’s going to sign a new striker soon.
Reading fan. Would be a dream come true. But it won’t happen. I don’t think we lack up front. It’s our midfield that’s needs sorting out. But to have wellbeck holding the ball up front will help le fondre score more goals.
