VIDEO: Shinji Kagawa steals the show and scores great goal against Ghana

by Sam Peoples

Shinji Kagawa was the stand-out player in Japan’s 3-0 victory against Guatemala earlier this week and today against Ghana, he stole the show.

The 24-year-old displayed some fantastic dribbling throughout the game and he was rewarded for his great performance when he scored Japan’s equaliser.

He cut inside the Ghanaian defence to drill in a fantastic shot into the bottom corner that brought the game back to 1-1 for Japan.

Against Liverpool and Chelsea, we lacked attacking guile and somebody who could create an opportunity. Kagawa is exactly the type of player who could solve that problem.

David Moyes chose to leave Kagawa out of the Liverpool squad despite the fact that he had regained fitness but given how well he has performed in this international break, it is surely only a matter of time before the Japanese playmaker is given his first Premier League and he could feature against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
