Nick Powell bio

Nick Powell started his career at his home town club Crewe Alexandra after joining the side aged just five. His debut for the club came in a League Two game against Cheltenham Town, and he was only 16 at the time which made him the second youngest player to ever appear for Crewe.

Powell moved to Manchester United in July 2012 and made his debut during the pre-season. He made his Premier League debut against Wigan, where he came on as a substitute for Ryan Giggs, and scored his first goal just 11 minutes after he came on.

Powell joined Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan at the start of the 2013/14 season and scored in their European match against NK Maribor which made him the first player to score a European Cup goal for Wigan.

After his return to Manchester United, Powell made one appearance in a 4-0 loss to MK Dons in the League Cup before he joined Leicester City on loan for the rest of the season.

In December of that season, Leicester terminated Powell’s loan early due to a lack of commitment to training.

Powell has represented England at the youth levels but has yet to make his senior debut.
