Stretford End salute against Schalke

Stretford End salute against Schalke

It has been announced on the Stretford End Flags website that there will be a fantastic mosaic erected by the Stretford End prior to kick off against Schalke tomorrow:

“For the European Cup Semi Final 2nd leg at Old Trafford, Stretford End Flags have designed the largest mosaic that we have ever produced. A 33,000 sheet mosaic, will reveal a Manchester United Red/White/Black bar scarf design that will go round the lower tiers of The Stretford End, North Stand and East Stand. Along the North Stand section, 3 Silver European Cups to symbolise our 3 victories in the Competition will be in integrated into the design. A mock up of the design can be seen here.”

33,000 fans will make this mosaic a masterpiece tomorrow

Cast your eyes back to the last time United pulled out a mosaic in European football, the 2009 final in Rome against Barcelona:

A fitting tribute to Sir Matt Busby

All credit to Stretford End flags for this fantastic organisation and lets hope it will be the start of an electric night at Old Trafford that will see us into the final against Barcelona in high spirit.
