The Guardian and the Daily Mail have today ran articles on Ravel Morrison and his pending court date which could spell the end to his promise at Manchester United. Widely tipped as one of our most exciting youth players, it has been his off the pitch antics which have slowed his progression down and this could prove to be the final straw for SAF.
Widely regarded as one of the best youth prospects to emerge out of the academy since Paul Scholes, Morrison has found himself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons too often. This latest episode see’s Morrison charged with assaulting his girlfriend and with his criminal damage and with a court date pending on the 25th, we could see Morrison face potential jail time as he already had a 12 month suspended charge. SAF has shown great patience due to the prodigious talent that Ravel is but there is only so much patience than a manager can show a youth player and this time, it might just be too far to salvage. Having represented England at every level since the U16’s, he was also up and coming in the national team. Sort yourself out Ravel, don’t throw away something so promising without letting the promise emerge…
Updates on the situation will be posted when news breaks so keep yourselves on the blog to keep updated.
