It seems a bit cliché these days to say that Ryan Giggs is going to break a record. He already holds the title of the most decorated player in English football history having gained 11 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cup winner’s medals, 3 League Cup winner’s medals and 2 UEFA Champions League medals. If Ryan plays against Blackburn this weekend then he will equal David James’ appearance record in the Premier League of 573. So, if he plays a part in the remaining 2 fixtures of the season for United then he will become the player with the most appearances in Premier League history.
No superlatives can describe how wonderful the Welsh wizard really is. Every season he seems to find a new gear and this season is no different. Performances such as Chelsea away in the Champions League and Schalke away in the Champions League immediately spring to mind but he has genuinely been involved in the majority of United’s success this season. Remember when Giggs was forced to play left back against West Ham when we were trailing 2-0 and his attacking performance from such a defensive position helped us as we ended up emerging 4-2 victors? Remember Giggs’ volley against Newcastle on the opening game of the season? This season Ryan has really turned on the afterburner but if anything, it has made him look fitter. He has been such an important player on our record to #record19 this season.
Giggs has been at United since 1991 and has played alongside every player in United’s rise to success. He will be truly irreplaceable when he finally hangs up his boots but in the mean time, let’s all look forward to hopefully another season or two from the man machine.
To finish, there is no way I will ever get bored of seeing this goal.
