SAF and Vidic scoop Barclays awards

Sir Alex Ferguson and Nemanja Vidic hold their trophies for photos

SAF and Vidic scooped the award for this season’s Barclays Premier League and deservedly so. Nobody can deny SAF this accolade as he gained his 12th Premier League title and the 19th for Manchester United this season and this marks a record ninth time that Ferguson has scooped this award. Take a(nother) bow Sir!

At the same time, Nemanja secured the Barclays Player of the Season award for the second time in his United career. After being left out of the nominations for PFA Player of the Year and Footballer Writer’s Player of the Year, Vidic deservedly won a player of the year accolade after what has been his best season in a United shirt. Being given the armband obviously gave Nemanja the last piece of the puzzle that has allowed him to become a complete defender. On his way, he proved an immovable part of the defence which went the whole season undefeated at Old Trafford. Lest not forget also that United were unbeaten in the league until Wolves secured a victory over us but it was all just a speed-bump as United secured the title this season.
