Ronaldo: I would have joined City

The name of Cristiano Ronaldo still reverberates off the walls of Old Trafford on match days, even since he has left for the white of Madrid. He left a firm fans favourite as we realised that to turn down an offer of £80 million would be sheer stupidity but reports today suggest that Ronaldo was ready to smear his legacy at Old Trafford and would have donned the blue of Manchester without remorse. According to a report in the Daily Mail, Cristiano Ronaldo has done anything but distance himself from a possible move to Manchester City in the future, stating that it was only because Jose Mourinho stayed at Real Madrid this season that he decided against a move back to the Premier League. Note: Take the quotes with a pinch of salt seeing as it is the Daily Mail, they may well have made them up:

“It’s flattering to be offered like £20m a year – it’s very good, but I spoke to my agent and I think it’s better to stay in Madrid because this year we’re going to be the best. This season we are going to be a big force. Jose Mourhino is staying at Madrid so I stay. If he went to Chelsea then I would have left. I would have gone to Manchester City. But now he’s staying, I’m staying.”
