United have today accepted a reported £300,000 initial bid from Peterborough for young striker Nicky Ajose as the Posh look to make their third summer swoop from United after securing hot prospects Ryan Tunnicliffe and Scott Wootton on loan already for the next season. The 19-year old Bury born attacker was a promising prospect in the United youth teams, a player with the capability of playing out on both wings and had the sought after ability in football of being able to drift past a defender with an annoying ease. After he had a prolific loan season out at Bury in the last campaign, knocking in an impressive 13 goals in 28 appearances, some may have thought that he had a chance to get into the first team for a few appearances but considering how saturated the United squad is with possible strikers right now (7 to be precise), his chances would have been extremely limited and SAF has chosen to offload him to his son’s newly promoted Championship side. There is no doubt that there will be a buy back clause in his contract, just in case Ajose takes the Championship by storm next season but it is another player moving from Old Trafford in what is turning out to be the busiest transfer window I can remember as a fan.
