David Beckham will line-up against Manchester United for only the third time as part of our pre-season tour of America. He will line-up as a member of the MLS All-Star squad that boasts other notable names as ex-Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, America’s finest in Landon Donovan and Barcelona old-boy Rafael Marquez. The last two times Beckham played against United were when we came up against AC Milan in the Champions League, a fixture in which we comfortably knocked out Milan over the two legs, so David will be hoping to have more luck this time. It was wonderfully nostalgic to see Beckham playing in red again when he came over for Gary Neville’s testimonial in May and with Paul Scholes’ testimonial coming up in August, I don’t think it is the last time we will see him play at Old Trafford either. In the corresponding fixture in the last pre-season tour, United stormed out 5-2 winners so if that is anything to go by, this should be a mouth-watering fixture to look forward to. The provisional squad for the starting XI for the MLS All-Star team can be seen below:

Keller, Gonzalez, Franklin, Marquez, Ream, Beckham, Jewsbury, Shea, Donovan, Henry, Wondolowski
