Manchester United’s new 20-year old goalkeeper David De Gea has now joined up with the rest of the squad in Seattle to take part in their pre-season tour of America. The Spanish shot-stopper was given extra time off by SAF following his involvement in the U21 European Championships in which he came out victorious but the time has come for him to mould the foundations of his career for United. I still firmly believe that SAF has bought the best goalkeeper available in the world in De Gea and I cannot wait to see what he can do in a United shirt; if there was any keeper who could replace what Van Der Sar had created for the team, then it is De Gea as he is only 20 and has the world at his feet. By the looks of things, however, he will have stiff competition after Lindegaard impressed against New England Revolution and openly stated he was willing to fight for the number one jersey at Old Trafford. David will take no part in the match against Seattle Sounders on Wednesday but we may well get to see his United bow in the next match against Chicago Fire just 3 days later. Welcome to the team David.
