That’s more like it! After recently stating my disappointment in the lack of United legends that would be coming out to play in the Paul Scholes testimonial, it has been officially announced now that Dwight Yorke will be joining the New York Cosmos in the match. Considering Andy Cole was out with United on the pre-season tour and took part in the Soccer School in Boston, the roster may well not be entirely complete. Alongside Dwight, both Wayne Bridge (random) and Robert Pires will also be playing in the team, so I still hold the hope that other United legends might pop up on the roster between now and 5 August:
Former Trinidad and Tobago international and Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has also been added to the Cosmos attack for the match honoring his former teammate Scholes. Yorke is one of the greatest North American players of all time and gained world renown with the deadly strike partnership he formed with Andy Cole on Manchester United’s treble winning side.
