Not the news any fan of any football team ever wants to hear but news has just broke that Javier Hernandez spent last night in hospital after he received mild concussion during a training session in New Jersey. He spent the night in hospital as a precaution but this is not exactly the sort of news we wanted to hear. I think we can take it for granted now that if all precautions are being taken then we won’t see Hernandez at any point in the match tonight, which is a shame because we were all hoping that he could continue the electric form that led him to become the MVP at the Gold Cup as well as taking home the Golden Boot en-route to helping Mexico win the competition. The match against the MLS All Stars would have been Hernandez’s bow in this years tour after he only recently joined up with the squad after his extended break after the Gold Cup but this incident will surely delay his re-appearance in a United shirt. The club will update the situation as more news is released but we all hope that this is nothing too serious. A club spokeswoman said:
“Chicharito sustained a mild concussion during training last night. We have taken all the necessary precautions, which included an overnight stay in hospital. The manager will give further updates in due course.
