FA Announce Giggs As Captain Of Great Britain Olympic Squad

The FA has today announced that (Sir) Ryan Giggs will take the armband for the Great Britain Olympic squad this summer. With his experience and know-how, Ryan was the right choice to lead the team out and he will no doubt lead by example.

Despite having such a wonderful domestic career in which he has appeared for United over 900 times on the way to winning 12 Premier Leagues, five FA Cups, and two UEFA Champions League, Ryan has never had the opportunities to show himself on the international scene with Wales. He will be hungry to get his hands on the gold medal but with Brazil and Spain’s squad teaming with talent, Great Britain will have to pull off a serious coup to do so.

Ryan retired from Wales in 2008 and through yoga, and plenty of bed action, has kept himself fit. As much as I hope he does well and enjoys the tournament, he better make sure that he doesn’t get injured.
