Luke Giverin and Gyliano Van Velzen will join Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp on loan for the 2012/13 season. The highly rated youngsters move to Belgium in a long standing relationship between the two clubs that has seen the likes of Jonny Evans and Darron Gibson join Royal Antwerp on loan in the past.
“Technique is one of my biggest strengths and passing. Knowing what to do when I get the ball. I have a vision in my mind where I know what I want to do when I get the ball. Passing and technique but also attitude to work.” Luke Giverin
After working his way through the youth ranks at United from the age of seven, Luke Giverin has impressed Warren Joyce enough to warrant a loan spell away from the club. A versatile left-footed player, Giverin had a fantastically successful season last year, winning four out of four trophies with the reserves and his hard work culminated in an appearance with the first team in the second half of Harry Gregg’s testimonial.
Joining Luke will be the highly rated Dutch winger Gyliano Van Velzen. Having represented Holland at U15, U16 and U17, the talanted and pacy forward makes the move to Belgium after Warren Joyce handed him three appearances in the reserves last season. In 2011/12, only Tyler Blackett made more appearances for United at youth level and the Ajax trained youngster netted eight times along the way.
Hopefully both players can gain from this loan move. Spells away from Old Trafford are absolutely vital in the progression of any youngster and if they can have successful seasons, they will come back to United hungry for even more.
