Loan watch – Weekly round-up of United players

By John de Loos

Despite most teams not playing because of the international break, there were still some loanees in action this weekend.

Sean McGinty: On Saturday Oxford United were at home to Exeter. Unfortunately, Sean McGinty was an unused sub in that game, which Oxford United lost 2-4. For the time being, he spends most of his time on the bench for Oxford and has only started once.

John Cofie: He was handed another start for Sheffield United but unfortunately he wasn’t able to continue his good scoring form from recent games into this fixture. Cofie was subbed in the 82nd minute in a game which saw two players from Sheffield United being sent off. But despite playing with nine men, the Blades managed to snatch a point Scunthorpe United. The game ended 1-1.

Luke Giverin and Gyliano van Velzen: On Saturday, both Luke and Gyliano started the Royal Antwerp game and played the full 90 minutes. Both had a good game, but Luke Giverin was involved in a few of the attacks and was the more active. Unfortunately for our young Reds, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Reece Brown: Coventry City were in action on Sunday and for the first time this season, Reece was left on the bench. Unfortunately, he remained an unused sub for Coventry City, who lost the game vs Stevenage at home, 1-2.
