Jonjo Shelvey apologises to Fergie on Twitter but not Evans

Jonjo Shelvey embarrassed himself today by ranting at Sir Alex Ferguson after getting sent off for a two footed lunge on Evans.

The youngster reportedly blamed Ferguson for “grassing him up” to the referee. No Jonjo, I think 45,000 people and the referee saw your assault on Jonny Evans themselves.

He’s now taken to Twitter to apologise to Ferguson but has refused to apologise for the tackle. Judging by his instant reaction to Ferdinand, he went into that full blooded tackle with some real intent.

No doubt Liverpool fans will be ranting that they were so hard done by a referee’s decisions but singing “You’re not fit to referee” to Mark Halsey, who only recently overcame cancer to continue refereeing again, was the height of hypocrisy considering the context of the day. Double standards.
