Giovanni Bia, Federico Macheda’s agent, has claimed that the Italian striker will be moving away from Old Trafford this January.
He said: “Federico at this time is not finding space, and so it is clear that in January he will go away.
“But I don’t think he’ll be back again in Italy because usually in January clubs are looking for players that are already ready, unless there are teams with a quiet standing which want to do long-term projects with him.”
Unsurprisingly Macheda wants to move away with Rooney, van Persie, Welbeck and Hernandez all above him in the pecking order. With loan moves to Sampdoria and QPR not helping him at all, a permanent move away seems the best option for all parties. He hasn’t progressed at the rate Sir Alex would of wanted and has struggled to live up to his own billing.
It was always going to be difficult for the Italian at Manchester United simply because of the high he got from his debut. A wonderful spin and strike sealed a critical title aiding 3-2 comeback victory against Aston Villa and, despite scoring in the next game, he has found it difficult to maintain what was an impressive start to his career.
This year he has been performing well for the U21s but it is obvious he wants to be playing senior football. He’s still young enough to make a name for himself and with such attacking options in our squad, it is obvious his opportunities will be limited if he stays.
