Javier Hernandez has been officially named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for October.
The Mexican scored four times in the month with a match winning brace against SC Braga at Old Trafford as well as netting in both matches against Chelsea including his winner in the thrilling 3-2 league game.
It has been a tough season for the Mexican so far with Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie keeping him out of the squad but he has now emphatically announced himself back to the team with some superb performances. He continued his fine form with a goal against SC Braga on Wednesday night in the Champions League.
Sir Alex has admitted that Javier Hernandez has given him the right sort of problem now that he has three strikers in red hot form and Hernandez is really showing great improvements this year.
His first touch is vastly improved and his all round general play has been fantastic – look no further than his man of the match performance against SC Braga at Old Trafford for a prime example.
Every team needs a poacher in the box and with six goals already this season, Hernandez has quickly found the scoring boots that earned him such adulation in his first year at Manchester United.
With a busy winter schedule coming up, he is sure to be getting a lot of game time and if he can keep up the sort of form he has been showing recently, it would be hard to argue against his inclusion in the starting line-up.
Well done Chicharito – and hopefully it is the first of many awards for the Mexican magician this season.
