Van Persie and Rooney pull out of international squads with injuries

Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney have both pulled out of their internationals this week against Germany and Sweden due to injuries.

Van Persie has pulled out of the squad with a thigh injury according to Associated Press and Rooney is sidelined by the ankle injury that forced him off against Aston Villa.

It was expected that Rooney would miss England’s game against Sweden but van Persie’s withdrawal from the Holland squad comes as a surprise as he didn’t look to have picked up any injury against Aston Villa.

With a visit away to Norwich at the weekend, hopefully van Persie and Rooney will both be fit in time for the trip to Carrow Road as both have been so important in getting us to the top of the table.
