U21s HIGHLIGHTS: Southampton 1-1 Manchester United

Manchester United’s U21s were held to a 1-1 draw last night against Southampton which means that we have to win our last game against Aston Villa to ensure qualification to the Elite stages of the U21s league.

A penalty from Lee put Southampton 1-0 up but a bulldozer run from Tunnicliffe opened up the opportunity for Manchester United and Macheda smacked in a rebound after the goalkeeper parried.

At the death, Southampton were given a chance to win the game after Jesse Lingard received a red card and gave away a penalty from a handball on the line, but Sam Johnstone saved the day with a great save and clearance from Lee.
