Patrice Evra has silenced his critics this season with a superb turn of form that has seen him re-find the performances that made him the worlds best left back at one point.
The 30-year-old Frenchman’s contract expires in the summer of 2014 and his form in recent years hasn’t suggested he deserves another contract. However, the arrival of Alexander Buttner revitalised him and he hasn’t looked back since his arrival.
Speaking to French media outlet Le10 Sport, Evra made it obvious where his loyalties lie. He said:
“Paris is the capital club and I’ve never hidden my love for Paris, even if Monaco remain ‘my’ club. It always hurts my heart to see the club not win the championship or qualify for the Champions League.
It is always a pleasure to be coveted, especially since I’m Parisian. But you’d have to kill Ferguson before I could come to Paris. There is nothing done and I’m happy in Manchester.”
Rumours suggest that PSG are looking at the prospect of bringing Patrice Evra back to his native France and give him a longer contract but according to Evra, that won’t be happening any time soon.
