Ronaldo: I really miss Alex Ferguson

Cristiano Ronaldo will finally make a return to Old Trafford this season after Manchester United were drawn against Real Madrid in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

In his six years at United, he transformed himself from a cocky boy into the worlds finest footballer under the watchful eye of Sir Alex Ferguson and Ronaldo admits he misses playing for Ferguson.

He said: “He’s a fantastic person. A human person. He taught me many things.

“Like I said before, he’s like a father in football.

“I really miss him and my relationship with him.”

“He is very tough. I think he cannot be like that because, how old is he? 70? It’s not good for his heart.

“He’s still tough, strong, I remember him the first time I saw him he was with the same power.”

Since joining Real Madrid, Ronaldo has gone on to score 169 goals in 169 appearances – a record that speaks for itself. As much as I have wanted to see Ronaldo come back to Old Trafford, it will be a return shrouded in trepidation and fear.

When David Beckham made his playing return with AC Milan, it was different. He didn’t pose a serious threat to us and it was nothing but fondness. However, Ronaldo can easily single handedly knock us out of the Champions League.

Either way, Viva Ronaldo will be sung on the terraces of Old Trafford in March when Real Madrid once again. Let’s just hope Ronaldo has an off night, right?
