Javier Hernandez’s agent has moved to quash any rumours linking Chicharito with a potential move away from Old Trafford in the summer.
Despite scoring 15 goals in 26 appearances for United this year, Hernandez has found his opportunities limited in the shadow of Robin van Persie‘s rise and Ferguson’s continued use of Danny Welbeck.
But Eduardo Hernandez, Chicharito’s agent, has said he is determined to make sure that he takes advantage of any opportunity he does get.
Speaking to ESPN Radio, he said: “Javier is focused on having a good season with United. We are trying to ignore the market rumours.
“It’s true there is much competition in Manchester but the boy is determined to maintain a good performance and seize his opportunities. Therefore, I don’t think it’s the right time to leave Manchester United.”
Hernandez has re-affirmed his status as an integral part of the squad again this season. Performances such as his “hat-trick” away at Aston Villa, his braces at home to SC Braga and away to Wigan and his match winning goal away at Chelsea all go to show how much he has improved this season.
Prior to this year, Hernandez has struggled to get involved in more of the game but an improved first touch, an increased awareness and much better footballing intelligence have made him a more complete player.
He is a real predator in front of goal and given his time on the pitch he is actually Manchester United’s most prolific goalscorer in the Premier League, scoring a goal every 93 minutes in comparison to Robin van Persie‘s goal every 120 minutes.
Real Madrid have been reportedly sniffing at the heels of Hernandez but he certainly seems happy where he is right now. On and off the pitch, he always has an infectious smile on his face and given how important he has been so far this season, he certainly will have a big role to play as the run-in kicks into full gear.
