Manchester United take Danish prodigy on trial

by Tom Parker

According to Danish paper Sporten, Manchester United have taken yet another youngster on trial at the club.

The player in question is 16-year-old Jacob Rasmussen, a defender currently on the books of three-time Danish champions Odense Boldklub.

The Danish U17s international is regarded by one publication in his homeland as ‘one of Danish footballs great talents’ and he previously captained the Danish U16s side.

It continues the influx of trialists at the club after Jeffrey Schlupp and Jurgen Damm recently spent time training with the United coaching staff at Carrington.

Rasmussen arrived at the club on Sunday and will train with the development squad at Carrington throughout the week, in a bid to impress coaches at United before he returns to Odense on March 22.

An international break means that United’s training base will be quieter than normal, with a number of the clubs stars playing for their respective nations. Of late, trialists have been brought in during international breaks in a bid to provide a calmer environment away from the glitz and glamour of United’s first team.
