Wilfried Zaha was in action tonight for Stuart Pearce’s England U21s against Romania and in a week where Zaha has been in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, he emphatically put those to one side with a superb goal.
He skipped past Romania’s defence before unleashing a pearler of a curler into the corner. It was his first goal for England’s U21s on a night he gained his seventh cap.
The 20-year-old winger, who has been heavily praised by Pearce ahead of tonight’s fixture, certainly didn’t disappoint.
Zaha made his full international debut against Sweden earlier in the year but Hodgson chose not to call him up to the senior squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers this week.
The more Zaha plays, the better he looks. He has turned a screw since signing a £15 million deal to join Manchester United in January and the sooner he comes to Old Trafford the better. More of the same please Wilfried.
