Javier Hernandez emphatically staked his claim on a starting spot for Manchester United with a brace for Mexico against Honduras in a 2-2 draw.
The 24-year-old scored a well placed header for his first and a great run saw him get on the end of a whipped cross to make it two on the night.
Hernandez has played a bit part role with Manchester United in 2013 with van Persie, Rooney and Welbeck keeping him out of the side and 400 of his 567 minutes of the pitch have come in the FA Cup.
However, Ferguson will surely have to take note of Hernandez thanks to his performance for Mexico that puts him on 31 goals in 45 appearances for his national side – a phenomenal return.
Whenever Hernandez plays, he scores. He has the best goals-to-minutes ratio out of all United’s strikers and with Madrid sniffing at his heels, Ferguson simply has to give him the playing time he deserves after tonight.
