Manchester United give trial to Danish teenage sensation

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United have invited Danish teenager Lars Troensegaard to a week long trial with the club at Carrington.

The 15-year-old, a member of Denmark’s U16 national squad, will be joining up with the academy this Sunday.

He will be joined by his clubs sports director Brian Steen Nilsen on the trial and the AGF director has praised United’s dealings with both the player and club.

He said: “What awaits Lars is cleary a great learning experience that he can use in his further development. He has been developing rapidly since joining AGF and it is now being rewarded with this trial.

“Right from the first contact, Manchester United have acted very professionally. They have had several scouts and their academy director follow Lars and I had a meeting with them.”

Troensegaard was first spotted by Manchester United in Denmark’s U16s Aegaen Cup where he obviously impressed the scouts in his natural right-back position.

He becomes another player alongside the likes of Jurgen Damm and Jeffrey Schlupp who have had trials at the club this season but he is by far the youngest at just 15.
