Ronaldo leads worldwide tributes for Ferguson

On the back of the shock announcement that Sir Alex Ferguson is set to retire from management at the end of the season and take up a directors role at the club, tributes have flooded in from far and wide.

Ex-players, current players and those involved with football around the world have had their say on Ferguson’s retirement after 26 years at the helm of United.

Cristiano Ronaldo @Cristiano – Thanks for everything, Boss.

David Beckham – As I have said many times before the boss wasn’t just the greatest and best manager I ever played under he was also a father figure to me from the moment I arrived at the club at the age of 11 until the day I left.

Bryan Robson – It came as a surprise. He’s probably the greatest manager there’s ever been. ‘To be at Manchester United for 27 years is a magnificent achievement never mind to win what he’s won.

Rio Ferdinand – The bosses work ethic, his desire to win + to make us better players were unrivalled. Thanks boss.
