Larnell Cole inspired Manchester United to a 3-0 victory over “that mob from across the road” to set up a mouthwatering Barclays Premier League U21s final against Tottenham on Monday.
The 20-year-old kept his cool from the spot twice in the first half before lashing home a first time shot in the second half to seal his hat-trick and the game for United.
Liverpool finished the game with ten men once again after Flanagan was sent off for booting the ball at Januzaj who lay on the floor.
It is fantastic that the U21s have managed to make it all the way to the final. Since January, we haven’t had an out-and-out striker in the squad with the likes of Powell, Schlupp and even Januzaj playing up top.
But coming up against Tottenham, United will have to be on top form. We beat Tottenham 1-0 in April in a closely fought game but over the whole season, the London club has been the best team over the league this season.
The final will be played on Monday night at Old Trafford so if you can make it down to support the team, grab yourself a ticket.
