Manchester United sign ten players

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United have added ten first-year scholars to the Academy squad ahead of the start of the 2013/14 season.

The list sees the likes of Devonte Redmond and Demetre Mitchell join the Academy with the latter the only one out of the ten to have already made his debut with the U18s last year.

Mitchell is one prospect that has already showcased what he can do both with the lower levels of Manchester United and England. Take a look at these two great goals that he has scored to get a feel of how he plays.

And with Mats Moller Daehli likely to be loaned out or moved up to the U21s, Mitchell will really have a chance to showcase his tricky talents with the U18s.

As well as Redmond and Mitchell, eight other boys will be joining up with the Academy as the club continues it’s tradition of finding the best talent the country has to offer and nurturing it into world class players.

United have also given new third-year scholar contracts to Jonny Sutherland, Paddy McNair, Louis Rowley and Declan Dalley.

Here is the list of the new scholars in full:

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (Defender), Ruairi Croskery (Forward), George Dorrington (Goalkeeper), Dean Henderson (Goalkeeper), Scott McTominay (Midfielder), Demetri Mitchell (Winger), Devonte Redmond (Forward), Joe Riley (Midfielder), Jordan Thompson (Midfielder), Oliver Rathbone – U17 Student (Midfielder)
