Barcelona reach deadline for Cesc Fabregas decision

Barcelona have appointed Gerardo Martino as their new manager on a two year deal and official movement regarding the future of Cesc Fabregas is expected to follow now that he is in place.

Martino will face the media tonight in his first press conference as Barcelona manager and although it is unlikely the club will allow any questions about Fabregas, now that they have appointed Martino there will certainly be progress with the Fabregas saga.

According to Sky Sports, a source close to Fabregas has revealed that he has had no assurances of his game time at the Nou Camp next year.

It is the first indication that United’s pursuit of Fabregas is rocking the boat and after two official bids have been launched, it is about time.

Puyol and Pique are certain that United are wasting their time pursuing Fabregas as are the club who are standing firm that he is not transferable but Andy Mitten feels that there are plenty of reasons as to why Fabregas would make the move to Manchester.

Moyes won’t adopt the Mourinho approach of getting his whole squad to talk about how good a signing he would be but Fabregas’ doubts about playing time are the first signs United could prise him away from the Nou Camp.
