Wilfried Zaha may have only been with the Manchester United squad for a couple of weeks but the former Crystal Palace winger has settled quickly into life as a United player.
Signing autographs for fans is going to become second nature to Zaha at United, more so than at Palace given that he will be thrust into the spotlight on a global scale and he has been happy to sign them for the fans.
The 20-year-old played a part in both of United’s pre-season tour games so far and he was unlucky not to score his first goal in United colours after a great performance against the A-League All-Stars.
His direct style saw him beat his man with ease on multiple occasions before he whipped in a cross. That sort of directness was something that United missed last season with our wingers more often than not choosing to pass the ball backwards rather than try to take their man on.
Fans can’t expect wonders from Zaha in his first season given the pressure he will be under but I am optimistic that the young winger can stamp his authority and become a starter for David Moyes’ side.
He brings something completely fresh to the squad and his youthful enthusiasm could give our winger department the much needed boost it needs.
