Januzaj insists he is ready for the biggest stage

Adnan Januzaj has set himself a target of gaining his full senior Manchester United debut this season and has no intention of leaving the club on loan.

The 18-year-old has excited fans by being one of the most impressive performers out on tour despite being so young.

And the Belgian winger has insisted that his main goal next year is to break into the first team.

“My target for the season is to try and get some games for the first team,” he said.

“I have not spoken to the manager about it yet but I would prefer to do that rather than go out on loan.

“That is what I came here for. Everyone wants to play for Manchester United.”

His attitude is spot on as is the ambition to break through into the first  team this year. After the likes of Pogba and Morisson leaving the club, it is great to see a level headed youngster with the right mindset to match the talent.

And Januzaj has revealed that Ryan Giggs is the player who helps him out the most at the club, a role the Welshman will likely have with more regularity now that he has taking on a coaching position.

“For the first few months when I came here it was very hard,” Januzaj continued.

“But gradually my English started to improve. I could speak to other people and connect with them.

“Now I feel confident and happy to be with the players, and in particular Ryan Giggs. Every time I need to ask something I go to Giggs. He helps me quite a lot.”

Fans shouldn’t get over excited about Januzaj because he is nowhere near ready to be a first team regular as his slender frame would struggle in the physicality of the Premier League.

But if he can make his senior debut and get a few senior appearances under his belt, it might not be too long before Januzaj becomes a major player for Moyes.
