Rio Ferdinand’s ability to get his #5 cap into almost every scenario in life is staggering.
Whether he is sitting on the bench in a match, lounging in his own house or walking around the street, more often than not his #5 hat will pop into the picture.
The Belgian has been gelling really well with the squad on tour. From having dinners with the younger players to mingling with the older ones, the 18-year-old has presented himself as well as any fan could have hoped in Asia both on and off the pitch.
On the pitch, he has been a revelation and he is expected to feature in some capacity again when United take on Cerezo Osaka in the morning. He is yet to score but has played an integral part in quite a few of United’s goals and has given all the right signs that he could have a first team role to play next year.
Let’s just hope we won’t be seeing the brand AJ44 any time soon. TC23 and #5 is enough for now.
