There are only nine days until David Moyes walks out as Manchester United manager in his first competitive game against Wigan Athletic and 15 days until we play Swansea in our Premier League curtain raiser.
In preparation, Moyes watched on as Swansea beat Malmo 4-0 in impressive style in their Europa League qualifier with new signing Wilfried Bony scoring twice.
It is going to be a hard opening fixture for Moyes as Michael Laudrup has worked wonders with a Swansea side that played some of the best football in the league last year.
In the corresponding fixture, United held Swansea to a 1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium and Moyes will need to have United ready for what is likely to be another tough game. The media will be ready to pounce on any mistake that he makes and he won’t want to make any.
Moyes hasn’t yet been able to use the likes of Nani, Rooney, Vidic and Valencia given that all four missed the pre-season tour of Asia but with three games remaining until the start of the Premier League, he has at least got some time to try to find his best starting XI ahead of what is going to be a baptism of fire for the Scot.
