Manchester United have rejected a second bid for Wayne Rooney from Chelsea believed to be in the region of £30 million.
Jose Mourinho indicated that Rooney was Chelsea’s only transfer target this summer but United have stood firm that he is not for sale at any price.
“A bid was received yesterday (Sunday) and immediately rejected,” a club spokesman said.
“Our position remains that he is not for sale.”
Rooney is expected to play his first match for United under David Moyes tomorrow in Stockholm on the Swedish leg of the pre-season tour and despite Chelsea’s advances, United have no intention of letting Rooney join Chelsea.
Mourinho indicated that Rooney was his only transfer target this summer and despite a second rejected bid, Chelsea will likely come back with another improved offer.
