Player Ratings: AIK Fotboll 1-1 Manchester United

by Sam Peoples

Anders Lindegaard 7 – Made two great point blank saves. Still, won’t have a sniff at a first team spot when De Gea is fit.

Rafael 6 – He has great link up play with Zaha that he showcased once again but was left lacking in defence on a few occasions.

Jonny Evans 6 – Jonny had to be substituted thanks to a foot injury. Had been ticking along nicely to compliment Vidic’s imperious performance.

Nemanja Vidic 8 – Man of the match. A dominant, no nonsense approach from Vidic that reminded us all of how he used to play before his injury. Great to see him do so well and last the full game.

Patrice Evra 7 – Good surging runs that helped bolster the attack and defended admirably, although was caught out a couple of times by AIK’s trickery.

Wilfried Zaha 7 – There is already a real buzz of excitement every time he touches the ball and it was his fantastic cross that allowed Henriquez to equalise.

Anderson 7 – Another game, another 90 minutes from Anderson. His fitness is improving in every game as is his expansive range of passing. Hopefully he continues to improve.

Michael Carrick 7 – Not his usual show stopping midfield dynamo performance but good nevertheless. His pass freed Zaha to cross for United’s equaliser.

Ryan Giggs 7 – Is he really 39? Giggs was running around like a sprightly teenager once again and brought the ball forward on more than one occasion with ease.

Nani 7 – Another terrible shame for Nani. He started off in really impressive form but was struck down by a groin injury early on. Early signs indicated he hadn’t lost any of his class though.

Robin van Persie 6 – A quiet game by his own high standards. Didn’t offer too much going forward but had some neat interplay with his team-mates around him.

Angelo Henriquez 7 – A fantastic senior debut for Henriquez. Despite being played out wide left, he scored United’s equaliser and showed a confident, composed first touch that would of no doubt impressed Moyes.

Chris Smalling 6 – Smalling is still on the road to recovery from his injury stricken year and you can see it in his confidence levels. Despite that, partnered Vidic well in Evans’ absence.

Danny Welbeck 6 – Out of the whole squad, Welbeck is one who would have benefited the most from this tour given his goalscoring exploits. Couldn’t find a winner for United but as always his link-up play was great.

Bebe 7 – Hold the press. Bebe came on for the last 20 minutes and actually played very well. He got a lot of crosses in, had no problem beating his man and showed a nice shift of feet to make space for himself.

Amos 6 – Had no chance at stopping AIK’s scorching goal but had a decent performance otherwise.
