Wilfried Zaha has already excited Manchester United fans with his starring role in the pre-season tour but instead of reveling in a successful tour, he is getting ready for the physicality of the Premier League by bulking up in the gym.
David de Gea adopted a similar routine when he started out at Old Trafford and it allowed him to become the best goalkeeper in the league last year. Hopefully Zaha can follow in the footsteps of Ronaldo whose combination of pace and strength made it almost impossible for him to be stopped.
Zaha is far from weak but having that extra bit of muscle will help him barge defenders away. His pace, feet and trickery are already electric and they lit up the pre-season tour.
The 20-year-old was rewarded by Roy Hodgson for his excellent form in the summer with a call-up to the England squad to face Scotland on 14 August and when it comes to who David Moyes picks as his starting XI to face Swansea on 17 August, plenty of fans are hoping to see Zaha’s name on the team sheet.
