PICTURE: David Moyes stays true to his promise about United youngsters

David Moyes was in attendance tonight as Manchester United’s U21s lost 4-2 to Liverpool at Salford City Stadium in their U21s Barclays Premier League curtain raiser.

Moyes always gave youngsters a chance at Everton and the early signs so far in his United tenure suggest that will be sticking to his promise of giving youngsters a chance at getting first team action this season.

Adnan Januzaj, Jesse Lingard and Angelo Henriquez have already had their say with some brilliant performances in the pre-season but there are plenty of other youngsters who have a chance at getting a run out in the Premier League.

Larnell Cole was in great form tonight against Liverpool and is highly regarded by followers of the U21s. As well as Cole, Marnick Vermijl deserves a chance after some very consistent seasons for Warren Joyce’s side.

United have a plethora of talented youngsters coming through even when looking at the U18s with the likes of Pearson, Pereira and Wilson all likely to feature for the U21s this season, so Moyes will have the opportunity to continue United’s long standing tradition of promoting the youth.
