Danny Welbeck’s goal tally of two goals for Manchester United last season saw him criticised by many for simply not scoring enough.
For United fans, his goals were only a minor part of his game as we saw what he brought to the team every week with his all-round game but that wasn’t enough for a lot of people outside of Old Trafford.
But off the back of a fantastic pre-season and an excellent performance against Scotland midweek where he bagged a goal, he continued his fine form with a brilliant brace against Swansea at the weekend and his delicate chip for United’s fourth was the pick of the bunch.
His brace put doubters of his ability back in their place but United fans shouldn’t be surprised that he scored such a quality goal because he has done it all before. When on loan at Preston back in 2010, he scored almost the exact same chip and also showcased his ability when in training with England too.
