Larnell Cole’s agent has confirmed that a number of clubs are interested in signing him on a loan deal this season.
The 20-year-old midfielder had a fantastic year with the U21s, finishing as the top scorer in United’s U21s Premier League winning campaign in 2012/13.
He was rewarded with a call-up to Peter Taylor’s U20 England squad for the World Cup and speaking to Sky Sports, his agent Peter Morrison admitted that there are a host of clubs interested in signing him.
“I am aware that he has created quite a bit of interest and I’m not surprised given his performances last season,” he said.
“Larnell is an exceptional talent but it is important that, if he goes on loan, it’s to a club where he will not only play regularly but continue his development under the right manager as, ultimately, his aim is to play for Manchester United.”
Cole continued this season where he left off with a goal and assist in United’s 4-2 loss to Liverpool midweek, so it is not a surprise that teams are lining up to secure his signature on a loan deal.
In order to secure some much needed experience, a loan deal is the right move for Cole this season so long as the team he joins compliment his sharp, fast passing style of play. It would be pointless for him to join a team that simply lumps the ball up field as he would not gain much from a move like that. A move to teams like Watford or Brighton would certainly benefit him given that they tend to play with a neat, passing style of football.
